REMINDER: Presidential Primary Elections set for March 1
The next election in which we will have the privilege to participate will be the Presidential Primary on Tuesday, March 1. The absentee voting for that election began on Jan 6. Remember that everyone in the neighborhood will be voting at Frazer again. The Arrowhead location was for the CITY election ONLY!
We recently had a report of a large, aggressive dog in the neighborhood. Please be aware and do your part to be a responsible pet owner. If you encounter any problems with a dog or another animal in the neighborhood, please contact animal control at 241-2970.
Renee Casillas, President of the Deerfield Neighborhood Association, has shared an important safety alert with us. Please be on the alert for a suspicious vehicle and person that may be related to theft. Information is as follows:
Please be advised that on, or about Sunday morning, Jan. 31, at 8:05 to 8:20 a.m., an unknown vehicle entered Deerfield. The driver of this vehicle, a white middle-aged female with blonde hair, was seen picking up disposed items from the curbside and driving slowly through the neighborhood. The recently installed Deerfield security camera reveals the vehicle entering the neighborhood. The vehicle was identified by its markings described by neighbors as a possible suspect in a crime that took place over the previous weekend.
A police report was filed Monday because an antique wrought iron chair was stolen from a neighbor’s front porch – the victim reported seeing this vehicle in the area. Although we have not reviewed footage from the entire weekend, we have reason to believe this is the suspect may be responsible for the crime. This vehicle has been noted in other neighborhoods around Deerfield that also has security equipment. Note the blacked out license plate.
Please be alert, keep your valuables locked or inside your home. Always contact MPD to report crime or suspicious activity. If this vehicle is seen in the area, please contact MPD. Thank you for being an alert neighbor.
In the coming months, we will be focusing on increasing membership in our Neighborhood Association, and working to engage our members in more ways. Please share this newsletter with your neighbors and, if they are not already a member, please encourage them to join.
