The following is a message from our neighbor and City Council Representative, Richard Bollinger.
My name is Richard Bollinger. I am the current City Councilman for District 1 and the first Homeowners President for Lake Forest/Mitylene Forest Neighborhoods. I have formed a temporary group of past Lake Forest and Mitylene Forest Board Members to help re-establish our once great Neighborhood Association.
A Neighborhood Association should meet a minimum of twice a year and quarterly if possible. The Association is responsible for the Cameras the City has given us to monitor and deter crime in our neighborhood. It is also responsible for the maintenance of the two signs, grass cutting, bush trimming, the Christmas decorations and lighting of the two entrances into our neighborhood.
We would like to have a formal meeting at Arrowhead Country Club on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Water, coffee and tea will be served. The best way to protect property values and deter crime is to have a strong neighborhood association. There is a lot of property surrounding our neighborhood that has yet to be developed and we want to be a major influence on what is built on that property.
I ask you this, if you are a current member of the neighborhood association, a past member that keeps saying I am going to join but just forgets or someone who is interested in getting more information, then not only come to the meeting in January but also bring a neighbor or friend with you to the meeting. Dues will surprise you because it only cost $40.00 a year to be a member. You have probably seen colored stickers on mailboxes. These stickers let neighbors know you are a member and that you care about the safety and welfare of the neighborhood.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the January reorganizational meeting.
_NO SOLICITING ORDINANCE__
The No Soliciting Ordinance the City of Montgomery has in place has been in the news a lot lately. The City Council has elected to leave the Ordinance as is without any new modifications. Our neighborhood association has window decals that you can place on your front door or the closest window to the front door.
Lake Forest/Mitylene Forest Yard Sale
Stay tuned for our next Spring Yard Sale. You just might not only sell some no longer needed items but you might also drive around and find some treasures you did not know you were looking for.
Walkers and Cyclists
We have a lot of walkers and cyclists on our neighborhood streets. Please be courteous while driving in the neighborhood and remember school may be out and there are a lot of children playing in or close to the street.
We will also being looking for those neighbourhood Leaders that would like to be on the new board….We will have the Montgomery Police Chief there to speak and take any questions you may have.
I’m looking forward to seeing you and your family at the meeting.
